By the time physicians reach a traditional retirement age, one out of four has less than $1 million in net worth, and one in ten has less than $500,000. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

After working at the Florida State University College of Medicine for seven years, I came to realize that if today’s graduating medical students are to avoid becoming part of that statistic, retire comfortably, and live out a rich life that balances their personal and professional goals, then they need quality and unbiased financial advice early in their careers.

Unfortunately, that need is not being met by most financial advisory firms today.

To solve this problem, I founded Shonan Gold Financial LLC, with a mission to provide quality financial advice for an affordable monthly retainer fee, to better meet the needs of early-career physicians and physician assistants.
